I have been attacking the messy task of cleaning up my digital music library. There's a ton of stuff that windows media player still thinks I have, since it was at one point on my computer, but I delete folders from the file system, not through my media player. WMP doesn't understand that, though. There's also a bunch of duplicates, a lot of stuff that isn't necessary, a lot of stuff I don't listen to. It all needs to go!

I've also been poking at the mess in my room. Sweaters packed away! Take that, winter. Multitude of colored pencils weeded and freecycled. Dresser cleaned out and resorted for spring. Just noticed a drawer isn't in correctly... Oops.

I still need to:
-finish at least 4 knitting projects
-finish mya's painting
-get class of '04 website up and running (the most deadline-y of these)
-clean the rest of the damn house
-sort through clothes
-actually throw away things that are too damaged to wear (no, marina, you don't need to keep them in case you have to paint something. or in case you need rags. or if you decide to mend it. it's not going to happen.)
-get my sewing machine repaired
-save money for new tires and for car insurance
-follow through on my credit reports

Oh, and pet this cute kitty.

the hedge abides.

Gotta love spring cleaning... it's a lot easier if your roommates are all in Mexico for a week.

"Eh, I'm sure they don't need this anymore!"

I'm such a packrat that it's actually better if I have someone there to keep me company and tell me to throw something away, goddamnit.

Have you ever seen my parents' back basement room? If you had, you'd understand whence my packrattery comes.

I stuck my head in there once and immediately backed out and tried to forget it. Ever seen your sister's mom's house?

I don't think she has. I think the elder yoders have, and that was enough trauma for the whole family. I don't wish that house on ANYONE. I dread the day something happens to my mom because I do NOT want to be cleaning that out.

No, I was there when we were working on your wedding dress. I only saw the kitchen (which wasn't bad), the living room, and the upstairs, though.

My impression was that a great deal of it was paper clutter, which at least is often tossable. I worry about the same thing with my parents, though, especially since I am such a packrat and since I know that we actually have used a lot of that stuff, which makes it harder to throw away.

From one pack rat to another...

But, but if you get your sewing machine repaired you can mend!
