smart bombs in the hands of stupid people

As some people may have noticed, based on the 14% increase in the "cute pink-haired girl" population (as opposed to the "shoddy pink dye-job girl" or "kawaiiiiii pink-haired girl" populations), I am back in the cities, slumming it in South Minneapolis. That is, until Monday, when I will be celebrating my quarter-century mark by avoiding almost all other human life up in the BWCAW.

But then I'll be in MN until I get sick of it and decide to apply for that job operating the sub-millimeter array at Mauna Kea. Suckers.

the hedge abides.

25 was a way harder birthday for me than 30 ever was. Leaves me worried about 35, too. But I still have a merciful few years before I face that one. ;-}

B-waters? I am jealous! Stay dry and warm.

WOO!

And just think, of all people, I got to see you back in MN! (Being that the chances for random encounters are generally unlikely given our lack of proximity... But I digress.)

Also? Happy early birthday!

hey, you could always look up my ex she may be doing drag shows in Minneapolis, the city that steals people I love. Happy Birthday in case I don't get a card out in time, you know this birthday fairy has been quite lax as of late. We missed seeing you, but glad to know you got there safely. And glad to know you're back to pink, the blond just wasn't working for me.

Heya Hedge! Welcome back!

[identity profile] hedgiewan.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Might be an uphill battle, but as long as it isn't too windy I think we'll be ok.

I'm very glad that you're back! And hopefully I will get to see you and maybe even hang out with you for more than a couple of minutes. Happy Birtday!

Where are you going?

[identity profile] jodi.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
a friend of a friend of mine worked on antarctica for a season as a random employee
this is the sort of thing i imagine you will do when you tire again of minnesota

[identity profile] hedgiewan.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
My uncle wants to enter at Knife Lake, but I don't know what our itinerary is, yet. I'll let you know tomorrow after we talk.

[identity profile] paddle2paddle.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only been in a little bit of knife lake. Except for one trip, I've done all of my paddling in the western end of the B-waters.

[identity profile] hedgiewan.livejournal.com 2006-10-07 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we went into knife lake last time, too, but I don't ever remember them by name, just by what they look like.

Oop! Actually, it looks like we'll be going through the numbers chain, NE (?) of Ely. I've not been there before. I hope it isn't crowded!

[identity profile] paddle2paddle.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
That is just east of where I've gone. Ely is one of the big hubs for getting into the B-waters. I don't think it will be very crowded this time of year though. Take lots of pictures. Let me live vicariously through you. I expect a full trip report when you are back.
